"All of Mystro's Metal Work comes from the earth,
so if anything the ART belongs to mother nature..."
I (mystro) have been building and fabricating steel and iron for 10 years now. My inspiration came from my employer, who I have been working with since 16 years old, where he offered me a large pile of scrap material as compensation to wages for a week that the business was slow. After two minutes of sifting through a pile of discarded rod, channel, "l" or angle iron and flat stock I became possessed by an influence of creativity that I never noticed.
Instantly I was bombarded with ideas and overwhelmed by voices or suggestions for elaborate, decorative, intricate, detailed pieces. Almost like these small unnoticed, lifeless, practically rusted bit of metal started to scream my name like "paparazzi" to celebrities for exclusive photo's. Being the sensitive and compassionate person I am it was hard to leave any piece of scrap metal lying on the floor of the shop, this new found love for art and construction turned my 'job' into something I would grow to be obsessed with.
Many of my pieces over the years are like children to me and now that the very first piece, in a way 'has grown-up and moved on (being sold or given away)' I am inspired to create much more. There are limitless possibilities of design, size, or style to this form of art that has been introduced into my life. The creative ideas never cease and the resources of materials are abundant, I am fully confident that "there's a whole world of art and talent I have not touched or seen and is just waiting for me." Making art is my passion in life and there is nothing more that I want to do because of the many different ways to express myself and to construct 'something out of nothing.'
